  • What Does it Mean when a Trailer Light is Listed as Waterproof or Submersible
  • When it comes to trailer taillights the terms waterproof and submersible are somewhat interchangeable. If a taillight is considered submersible that means that the internal circuits are waterproof and would be protected for if you were to back the trailer into water like when launching a boat. The part # TLL56RK that you referenced is listed as waterproof and submersible so it would work great on a boat trailer. Lights that aren't waterproof or submersible will still work just fine on...

  • How Waterproof is the Over 80" Wide, Square LED Trailer Tail Light # STL2RB
  • The Over 80" Wide, Square LED Trailer Tail Light # STL2RB that you referenced is designed to be a submersible light. What that means is that once you got to the boat ramp you would want to disconnect your trailer wiring from your tow vehicle and then you could back your boat trailer into the water and the lights will be totally fine. The LEDs are sealed so that water would not get to them. This light would be exactly what you need. For the left hand side you would want part # STL3RB.

  • LED Docking Lights to Replace Halogen Lights Using Too Many Watts
  • It sounds like the Halogen lights you are using are pulling too much power causing you to blow the breaker once they heat up. I recommend changing them to LED's like the LED Pontoon and Fishing Boat Docking Lights item # TN23ZR.

  • Diameter of Mounting Holes in Optronics MCL93RB LED Identification Light Bar
  • The mounting holes for the # MCL93RB ID Light Bar are 3/16 inches in diameter, I'd recommend using 3/16 inch stainless hardware and a 7/16 hole in the trailer frame. Stainless bolts, nuts and washers should be readily available at your local hardware store. If you click the provided link, you can see a product demonstration video for the # MCL93RB Light Bar.

  • What Size Hole is the Uni-Lite LED Side Marker Light # MCL11AKB Designed to Install In
  • The Sealed, Glolight Uni-Lite Mini LED Side Marker and Clearance Light # MCL11AKB is designed to fit an 11/16 inch diameter hole. While this light is considered submersible, it is not designed to provide a watertight seal when installed though. You would have to use a watertight sealant between the grommet and the hole it would get installed into, as well as between the light and the grommet. Submersible means that the light itself can be submerged underwater and it won't become damaged....

  • Fit & Wiring Length of CE Smith LED Light Kit for Post-Style Boat Guide-Ons CE27656A
  • The specs for the CE Smith LED Light Kit for Post-Style Boat Guide-Ons # CE27656A note these lights fit on 2-inch diameter posts, but this is incorrect. The lights have an inner diameter of 2-3/8-inches which allows them to fit fine on posts like # CE27640. I went to our warehouse and measured both items. The light inner diameter and the post outer diameter match up at 2-3/8-inches. I will request the correction to this error. Thank you for catching it. I also measured the length of the...

  • Capacity of Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunks
  • Though your line of thinking is perfectly logical, unfortunately it is a bit more complicated. The # DL21741 roller bunks have a 3,000 lb capacity per set and because a 5,500 lb boat does not have its weight evenly distributed, there will almost certainly be more weight at the back of the boat assuming that's where the motor is, and there would be more than 3,000 lbs of weight on that set of bunks so it would not work for your particular application.

  • Towing Capacity of 2013 Honda CR-V and Recommended Hitch and Wiring
  • From what I was able to determine from my research, the 2013 Honda CR-V has a towing capacity of 1500-lbs, so as long as the boat and trailer weigh under 1500-lbs you can tow it with your vehicle without damaging it. If you need a trailer hitch to tow your new boat, I recommend using the Curt C13119 because of the durability of the powder coat on the Curt hitches, which is important for making sure that it doesn't get rusted. There are some other things you'll need to tow a trailer, including...

  • Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire Pressure For a 10' Aluminum Row Boat Trailer
  • The Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10066 that is on the Wheel and Tire Combo # AM30820 will need 80psi of pressure when the tire is cold. It is best to verify the pressure in the coldest temperature it will operate before driving. The manufacturer accounts for the tire warming up with higher temperature and when the tire gets warmer from the friction of driving. With having such a light trailer and boat you can have them weighed with all your gear to ensure you are using the correct load...

  • Appropriate Tongue Weight Range for Boat/Trailer with Combined Weight of 6310-lbs
  • In general a properly loaded trailer will have a tongue weight (TW) that is between 12- and 15-percent of its gross weight, its GVWR. Keeping the TW in this range tends to result in the best handling characteristics with the least trailer sway. On a boat trailer TW can be a bit more complicated. An outboard motor, which naturally hangs at the extreme rear of the trailer, can have a substantial impact on your actual TW. The same boat with a 100-horse motor versus a 300-horse motor will...

  • Is the Custer 4 LED Strobe Light part # STRL4W Waterproof
  • In order for something to be considered waterproof it needs to be able to withstand submersion for a certain amount of time without any water leaking in. The Custer 4-LED Strobe Light or Running Light # STRL4W would work well on the exterior of your vehicle and normal amounts of rain wouldn't break it. But I would not recommend it for a boat trailer where the trailer gets submerged. For something like that you would want a LED Backup Light part # BUL10CB.
